Dr. James Flowers
For nearly three decades, Dr. James Flowers has been one of the most recognized and respected names in the field of chronic pain, addiction, and pain recovery. With his broad educational background and extensive experience in evaluating and treating mental health, chronic pain, and co-occurring addiction, he is recognized as an expert.
Dr. Flowers has completed several fellowships in behavioral pain management and has completed clinical rotations at the top healthcare institutions in the country.
He developed mental health, pain, and addiction recovery programs for some of the country’s best-known healthcare and addiction treatment centers. He directed medical and clinical programs integrating evaluation, diagnosis, and healthcare planning with treatment to promote successful recovery.

Nathan is an experienced behavioral health professional with over 20 years of expertise in the field. He joined Cirque Lodge in 2008 and currently serves as the administrative director, overseeing the frontline, experiential, and medical departments, as well as several operational departments, the quality performance improvement and licensing teams. Nathan holds a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science and psychology with a minor in geology, graduating Cum Laude, and a Master of Social Work degree from Utah Valley University.

As a licensed clinical social worker, Nathan also serves as a member of the clinical team at Cirque lodge and carries a small caseload. He adopts an existential orientation in his therapeutic work, while weaving mindfulness-based techniques and experiential methods into his work. Nathan has extensive experience with crisis intervention, experiential therapy, suicide prevention, and EMDR trauma work, and is committed to providing his clients with the utmost support and personalized care.

In addition to his role at Cirque Lodge, Nathan is a lecturer at Utah Valley University in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, School of Social Work. He is highly regarded for his leadership, dedication, and expertise in the behavioral health field. When he is not working, Nathan enjoys reading, painting, and spending time in the Utah mountains and deserts collecting rock and mineral specimens.

Chad Husted has been a Licensed Counselor in Georgia since 2006. He has served professionals, adolescents and families throughout his career. He spent the last fifteen years overseeing and directing behavioral healthcare operations before establishing Executive Presence Solutions in 2022.

Chad has spent much of his career providing coaching and leadership support for professionals in the healthcare industry.

Chad incorporates several different treatment modalities in his practice but primarily operates from an ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) approach. Debbie Carroll serves as the Vice President of Entertainment and Specialized Services at Onsite. For over 40 years, Onsite has been an international leader in the emotional health space. Carroll is responsible for building and executing Onsite’s concierge focused emotional wellness platform for public facing professionals.

Before being named Vice President of this division in March 2022, Carroll spent over 23 serving as Vice President of Health and Human Services for MusiCares. She was responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing MusiCares’ programs and services nationally. Under her leadership, MusiCares succeeded in substantially scaling their programs and services from 230 clients and $236,000 distributed in 1998 to over 38,000 clients and more than $28 million dollars distributed during the COVID pandemic. Carroll led MusiCares mission-based work through over 10 disasters including; Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Harvey, the Nashville Floods and the Route 99 shooting. Ten years ago, Carroll was instrumental in launching MusiCares’ first preventative Healthy Essentials Clinic. Since then, the program has expanded to over 500 annual events nationwide that address medical issues, dental and hearing health, emotional health, addiction recovery services, and educational topics of interest to music people.

After nine years prior experience in the human services field, Carroll joined MusiCares in August of 1998, and worked in various capacities in the health care industry, ranging from hospital settings to private practice. During the course of her career, Carroll was instrumental in developing substance abuse treatment programs in Massachusetts, Colorado, and Georgia.
Carroll currently serves on the ACM Lifting Lives, Harmonium, and Leadership Music Board of Directors and serves on the Cumberland Heights and Music Health Alliance Advisory Boards. She is the past Chairman of ACM Lifting Lives and is the current President of the Leadership Music Board of Directors. She previously served as a board member of the American Heart Association and the Onsite Foundation. She has been honored for six consecutive years receiving the Nashville Business Journal’s Women in Music Business Award and was recognized by Pollstar 2020 Live! as an Impact 50 Honoree.
Carroll is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, holding a master's degree in social work from the University of Georgia, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the University of Colorado, Boulder.

Janet leads Onsite’s consulting division focused on mental health and wellness in the businesses and organizations. She has experience working with a variety of clients across both for profit and non-profit sectors. Most recently she served as Co-President, Chief Strategy and Operating Officer for BUNTIN. Janet leverages 20+ years of experience to partner with clients in the development of leaders and teams to unlock potential and build capacity.

As an experienced C-suite executive, she is uniquely positioned to understand firsthand the challenges that executives face when addressing the need to grow. Prior to BUNTIN, Janet served as the Chief Operating Officer of Onsite Partners and prior to Onsite, she was a partner and leader of the strategy, change leadership, and facilitation practice areas of c3/consulting, which was acquired by Ankura in 2018. Throughout her career, she has held leadership positions in business development, finance, sales, operations, and customer experience in a variety of industries. This first-hand experience has shaped her ability to connect with executives and team members at all levels while fostering cross-functional collaboration and connected cultures.

Randal Lea is a licensed addictions counselor with over thirty-five years of clinical and administrative experience. Lea received master’s degrees in counseling from Trevecca Nazarene University and in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. Mr. Lea has been a frequent presenter on such topics as Assessment, Sexual Behavior in Children, Ethics, and Trauma. He is a certified Mentor of Dream Tending and a Qualified Clinical Supervisor in addictions counseling.
Previous to his current role as Chief Community Recovery Officer at Cumberland Heights Foundation where he oversees outpatient and community counseling, Mr. Lea served eight years as Assistant Commissioner with the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services. In 2008, he was recognized by the Praed Foundation as a national “Systems Champion” for implementing a statewide children’s assessment for DCS. He also received the “Friend of Children Lifetime Achievement Award” in 2010 from Tennessee Voices for Children and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Tennessee Association of Addiction Professionals in 2021. He serves as President-elect of the Tennessee Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services.

Catie has accumulated 12 years of professional experience, starting her career in the public sector where she worked for non-profit organizations and federal and government agencies. Throughout her career, she has gained a wealth of knowledge working with mentally ill patients who require a high level of care, combat veterans, people who are chronically homeless, and inmates at Utah State Prison. Catie is a Certified Trauma Therapist and has received training in various therapeutic modalities, including EMDR and EFT. In 2016, she transitioned away from the public sector and now holds the position of Chief Clinical Officer at Balance House.

Christi Cessna, MS is a well-rounded business development and operational executive with over 20 years of behavioral healthcare experience. She is a proven leader who excels at building teams, operationalizing systems and processes, and producing desired results. She has experience working with companies in different growth stages, as well as launching and sustaining capacities of de novo and acquired programs, mergers and acquisitions, and well-established programs.

As an executive leader, Christi guided organizations on how incorporating best practices and progressive treatment approaches lead to program differentiation and being a treatment center of choice for professionals nationally and internationally. She has worked for several of the behavioral health industry’s most respected private programs and brands, delivering a pivotal outcomes to those organizations in various growth stages.

Christi holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology and has experience as a practicing clinician for several years prior to expanding into the business and operational roles. She is a certified DISC trainer and is a national speaker presenting on leadership, collaboration, and ethical business practices. She is passionate about delivering excellent care to clients and families and will only work with organizations that put mission first.

Caitlin graduated with a Master's in Professional Counseling from Georgia State University and has been practicing as a clinician for 15 years. She is currently the Clinical Director at Momentum Recovery in Wilmington, North Carolina. Caitlin has worked extensively in the field on improving mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders with adults and emerging adults. She views addiction from an attachment lens, valuing the importance of relationship and connection in the healing process. Caitlin is trained in brainspotting, EFT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and utilizes a variety of experiential techniques in her practice. Not shying away from the pain of the human experience, her work with clients largely revolves around meeting them where they are to partner in walking though the healing process.

Jeff Noles earned his Bachelor of Science in Education from Louisiana Tech University and his Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Jeff became a Licensed Addiction Counselor in 2011 and a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2018. He is also a Certified Trauma Therapist. Additionally, Jeff became a Certified Clinical Supervisor in 2022.

Jeff utilizes Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to address the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Jeff believes his client’s best chance of sustained healing is the result of a systemic change. He works closely with families to help see what their roles in their loved one’s recovery will be.

Having been sober since July, 2006 Jeff has worked with the addicted population in residential settings for the last 15 years in the hopes of giving to others what was given to him.

Jeff is married to his wife Kayt and they have two boys, Anders and Arlo. He loves watching sports of all kinds and is a lifelong fan of the Minnesota Vikings.

Glenda Crump currently serves as Chief Administrative Officer for the Mississippi Public Health Institute, a nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing public health priorities in Mississippi. As CAO, she is responsible for overall infrasturture development which includes board and staff development, policies and procedures development, resource development and other operational issues. She holds a Master of Communications degree from Mississippi College and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English/Journalism from Tougaloo College. Glenda is a Certified Prevention Manager. She formerly served as CEO of DREAM, Inc. a nonprofit youth substance abuse prevention organization and worked with Friends of Children of MS, Inc., where she directed a program that assisted economically disadvantaged women in starting their own businesses. The program won a national award as was recognized as one of the top ten training programs in the country. She has taught Speech and Business Communications in the Adult and Traditional programs at Belhaven College. Glenda is an in-demand motivational speaker on such topics as team-building, organizational change, and personality styles.

Nanette Zumwalt is currently recognized as one of the top interventionists and an industry expert, both nationally and internationally. Nanette began working in the field of mental health and addiction treatment nearly three decades ago as a direct care technician at inpatient acute psychiatric hospitals. With her vibrant and engaging personality, knowledge, experience, and sincere desire to help those in need, it is no surprise that her career has included various management titles throughout top national therapeutic schools and recovery programs.

Early on in her career, Nanette notes that she developed a specific passion for the “willing but not able” individuals struggling in treatment transitions. In 2002, Nanette began the journey of developing, building, and growing Hired Power. Under her care and leadership, Hired Power has taken the pioneering role in clinically supporting adolescents, young adults, and adults during the high risk and critical transition periods of recovery.

Nanette is a dedicated professional with an intuitive ability to understand the needs within the field of treatment. One example of this is her commitment to holding higher ethical standards and professionalism within the community of direct care staff and companions. Recognizing this need, she partnered with Dr. Judith Landau in 2015, creating the International Recovery Institute. Together they developed a curriculum for an imperative skills training. This curriculum is now recognized by NAADAC and is being reviewed by several other credentialing bodies.

Nanette is well-known as a strong advocate for families struggling with addiction, mental illness, or co-occurring disorders. Her passion for recovery from addiction stems from within her own family. She experienced first-hand the devastation of this insidious disease.

In the most recent decade, Nanette has accepted several national invitations to speak on current trends in the field of addiction and mental health. She has been noted in newspapers and featured in several magazine articles as an industry expert. Nanette has received multiple service awards including an award in 2007 from California Assemblyman Jim Morrissey. She has also been named one of the top 10 interventionists in the country by QuitAlcohol.com.

Nanette holds credentials as an International Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor Level II Clinical Supervisor (ICADC II-CS), an International Certified Criminal Justice Professional (ICCJP), a Certified Intervention Professional (CIP), Certified ARISE Interventionist (CAI), and is a member of the Association of Intervention Specialists (CCAPP, AIS).

Nanette currently serves on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Addiction Treatment Programs (NAATP), she is past board member of Association of Intervention Specialists and is a current member in good standing with a large variety of related organizations.

Away from the office, Nanette enjoys time with her grandbabies, cooking, traveling and exploring new places with her husband Rick and family.

Dr. Adam McLean
Adam McLean, Psy.D., serves as the Director of Business Development for The Guest House, Dr. McLean attended California University to complete his doctorate in clinical psychology. Dr. McLean continues to research positive psychology, trauma and addiction in effort to be an advisor for those with maladaptive coping behaviors and their families. Dr. McLean first began providing client services in community mental health for a non-profit in Northern Arizona.  He assisted in creating a long-term extended care program that combined an outdoor adventure experience with traditional treatment modalities. In continuation with his passion to help those with substance use disorder, Dr. McLean created a long-term treatment center for young adults focusing on substance use disorder and collegiate recovery.  Adam’s education and experience has allowed him to help hundreds of families get their loved ones into treatment. Outside of working in behavioral health, Adam enjoys spending time with his son, Jack.

With over 25 years of experience in the industries of mental health, substance abuse, and recovery, Mark is a veteran of healthcare program development and marketing. His roles have included admissions, business development, direct care and supervision inside therapeutic settings, as well as therapeutic program management. Mark also helped to start and operate five highly regarded treatment programs around the country.

Mark’s greatest accomplishment is getting sober. There was a time when addiction controlled his life. With much support from his family and others in recovery, he was able to break the cycle of addiction at the age of 21. It has now become his mission to make the gift of recovery more accessible to others. He believes there is hope for every young adult, that they—and their families—may find a new life. To quote his favorite line from the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, “It works, it really does!”

Mark is married to Jackie and has a son, David.They have two dogs, Dakota and Duke.Mark is a huge Philadelphia Eagles fan, and also attempts to play golf (but plays poorly).

Carmen has been a psychotherapist and consultant for the past 30 years and currently serves as the Chief Clinical Advisor at Integrative Life Network. She draws on her innate intuitive abilities as well as her traditional training to bring guidance and transformation to her clients. She is able to integrate Toltec wisdom and ancient healing principles to understand how the mind gets programmed into performing self-defeating thinking patterns and behaviors and guides clients on the path of self-mastery. She also works collaboratively at times with talented colleagues to enhance her client’s mental well-being. She understands that when the mind, body, and spirit are in harmony and alignment, her clients can reach their life goals. She has specialized in working with individuals, families, and couples who have experienced trauma, addictions, and an array of other mental health issues. She perceives a person’s healing as a creative process that is best achieved when drawn from many modalities to support optimal wellness.​
Carmen has been an adjunct professor at Lesley University since 1999. She developed and continues to teach Treating the Addictions. She also regularly teaches Clinical Skills, Culture & Identity, and Children and Adolescent Psychopathology. Carmen completed intensive family therapy training at the former Cambridge Family Institute. She is well-versed in Post Induction Therapy where she was instructed at The Meadows in Wickenburg, AZ by Pia Mellody, author of Facing Codependency and other books. Carmen was a supervisor of a SAMSA research project for the prevention of adolescent substance abuse. She has presented adolescent harm reduction research at Harvard University. Throughout her years in practice, she has developed and facilitated substance abuse programs throughout the Boston area and Niagara Falls, Ontario.

Carmen has studied with astrology scholars and authors, Heather Ensworth, Ph.D. and Joseph Crane, M.A., and she offers natal chart readings when appropriate and indicated for greater personal insight. Carmen is also trained in compassion mediation for couples. She is a yoga teacher, reiki master, and facilitator of Dr. Sue Morter’s The Energy Codes. She has facilitated Psychotherapeutic Reiki, Beyond 12 Step Recovery groups, and shamanic healing over the past several years. She combines ancient healing practices with contemporary research-based therapeutic techniques.

Jayson is a native of Wilmington and has been working in the substance use disorder treatment community since 2016. After graduating from Catawba with a degree in Sociology, Jayson worked at a state-funded addiction treatment program and pursued his CADC, gaining valuable insight into the treatment of prolonged and chronic substance misuse.

Harold Owens

For the past 32 years, Mr. Owens has specialized in the field of addiction treatment for the entertainment, legal and medical communities.

In 1999, Harold was hired by the MusiCares Foundation, the charity arm of the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences also known as the (GRAMMY Organization) as the Senior Director of the MusiCares/MAP Fund, where he was responsible for the implementation of all aspects of its addiction recovery program, including treatment services, outreach, case management and provider contracts.

He is also a frequent moderator and panelist at a number of music and entertainment industry conferences that address the problems of addiction.

In 2001 and again in 2006, Harold received Official Certificates of Commendation from Mayors’ James Hahn and Antonio Villaraigosa for Outstanding Service to the City of Los Angeles in the field of Addiction Recovery.

Heather is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor, a Clinical Addictions Specialist, and a Certified Trauma Therapist. She completed a Master’s degree in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology from Naropa University. With nearly 20 years in the treatment industry, her clinical experience includes direct client care and executive leadership roles at inpatient, outpatient, and wilderness therapy programs.

Heather has been a part of developing, designing, and opening five dual diagnosis and trauma informed behavioral health substance use programs. Her clinical expertise includes working with the LGBTQ+ community, trauma, mental health, substance use disorders, spirituality, anxiety, depression, grief and loss. Her clinical approach is person-centered, holistic, and humanistic, utilizing evidence-based experiential interventions to support the growth of individuals.
